Technical information about this website’s accessibility
HM Land Registry is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below (link opens in new window).
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
Error messages are shown at the top of the page and not where the error has occurred. This fails WCAG 3.3.3 Error Suggestion (AA) and 4.1.3 Status Messages (AA).
Some text boxes may be missing a label. This fails WCAG 3.3.2 Labels or Instructions (A) and 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value (A).
It may not be clear what to put in some text boxes. This fails WCAG 3.2.4 Consistent Identification (AA)
Some of the tables do not have headers to tell you what the rows and columns represent. This fails WCAG 1.3.2 Meaningful Sequence (A).
Some images will not have ALT text, which means they won’t work with a screen reader. This fails WCAG 1.1.1 Non-Text Content (A).
The focus visibility on some areas fails WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible (AA).
We plan to fix these errors by September 2023.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
There should not be any other content that would cause accessibility problems in this service.
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services (link opens in new window).
Disproportionate burden
We will ensure that our services are compliant with the accessibility regulations. Content that does not currently comply with the guidelines can be found in other sections of this statement.
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
We’re continually improving this service and will update this statement when anything changes.

This was tested on 20 September 2022. Tests were carried out by an independent internal audit team using a purpose-built test suite.
This statement was prepared on 26 October 2022. It was last reviewed on 26 October 2022.
