Update your contact address in the proprietorship register


Thank you for your enquiry.

It is important to keep your registered contact address up to date. This will help protect your property against fraud.
 
Documents you need to send to us

To update your contact address you will need to send us the following:

  • an application form
  • a colour photo less than 3 months old
  • evidence of your identity

Please complete an application form
 
The applicant must be one of the registered proprietors of the property or act for them.
 
Complete form COG1 to update your contact address on properties you own.
 
 
Please provide a photo. It must be:
  • less than 3 months old
  • showing your full face
  • in colour
  • on photographic paper
To update other registered owners contact details they must complete panel 4 and sign it.
 
We need evidence of identity of the applicant noted in panel 1
  • 1 item from list A      or
  • 2 items from list B

List A – please supply one of the following
  • a photocopy of the personal details page of your passport showing your photo   
  • a photocopy of a current UK, EU or Isle of Man or Channel Islands Photocard full driving licence
OR

List B – please supply two of the following
 
Documents may include:
  • a utility bill less than 3 months old
  • a council tax bill for the current year
  • a mortgage statement for the past year

The document must have arrived at the property address listed in Panel 2 by post. It must show the property address. (Electronic copies are not accepted.)
 
Please note that internet bills are not acceptable evidence.

 
If you cannot supply evidence from list A or B above

A conveyancer can verify your identity using a Form ID1
 
Please provide a photo. It must be:
  • less than 3 months old
  • showing your full face
  • in colour
  • on photographic paper

There is no fee for this application.
