Hey Adam,
So I've browsed 60,000 pages (maybe more) and all roads seem to lead me to the same page which is the Land Registry Portal where I see 'login' and 'password' but no 'register' button which seems - frankly odd.
So mum died, I am the only son. House bought outright years ago. I applied for and was granted probate. Times were turbulent and after purchasing 5 copies of death cert. and 5 letters of admin - I forgot to finish the process off after I started renovations.
Wondering why some utility companies wouldn't (or seemingly couldn't) send me water bills or energy bills in my name (not my mothers) the penny finally dropped and I accessed the register and of course, here we are.
So I have the AS1 form completed, the AP1 form completed and this convoluted process lead me to the 'Fees' page. Scale 2 fee Assent I see £70 by post or £30 online. Seeing that it's not 2002 any more I'd prefer to pay online - call me a fusspot but at this point - all logic and common sense seems to break down. Every page regarding how to register just to pay a fee lead back to the same page.
Who is coding the site? Pay my fee for me and I'll fix it for His Majesty. It'll be a good nostalgia hit, take me back 3 decades when I was a kiddy scripter.
My question is then: why let a member of the public download an AS1 or AS2 ,pdf and allow it to be edited directly - sift through hundreds of thousands of waffle words only to be told to 'send your applications by post' ? Why dangle the offer of paying £30 instead of £70 only to be faced with 'business customers' and 'official software' ? It's HTML, not MI6.
I'd like to change the register, upload the altered forms and pay the correct fee online. Why all the extra steps?
Thanks.
Loui

Hey Louis - the portal is for our business customers so those who do repeat work with us. It's not for public use/registration
It's a postal only application so a £70 fee based on what you have stated. We are looking at improved public services but as yet the online options you would like do not exists. Sorry

Cheers for the reply mate.
Surely it's no massive undertaking for somebody such as yourself to amend the application pages such as AS1 to make them more clear - you have to admit that they don't reflect the promises made on many a page to make them more user friendly?
I charge £70, if you would believe it, to make such changes on websites. ;)
