Change of company name

If a company has changed its name but the company number remains the same, does this need to be updated on the Land Registry title? Would there be issues on registration of a transaction later down the line if the company named in the Transfer is not the same as that named on the title save that the company number remains the same?

Laura - we would always recommending updating the register re a change of company name. Whilst it can be left you would need to account for the change as and when any dealing with the title took place and required registration. And the update requirements would need to be met then.
