Solar Panel Registration

Hello,

I am currently in the process of selling my property. The individual purchasing mine has a property to sell which has an unregistered solar panel (one single panel). All searches and enquiries in the chain are complete with the exception of my buyers registration of their single solar panel.

The process to register the solar panel is ongoing with Land Registry and it has been expedited. The request was submitted on 10/06/2025 and was expedited due to the sale of the property being at risk due to this. We have today been informed that this has been referred to a senior assessor but have not been informed how long this will take. Are you able to confirm at all if it's likely to be days, weeks or months?

Thank you.
Kyra.

Hello Kyra - if it's been referred to a senior officer then we should be looking at days/weeks and not months
Everything then depends on whether more is needed though or if all ok to proceed

Hello Adam!
If the case has now been escalated to a Lawyer at Land Registry to register an "airspace lease" for a solar panel, are there any timescales associated to this that you're aware of? This comes after the case was escalated to a senior officer, but has now been escalated to a lawyer.
Thanks.
Kyra

Thanks Adam. Is it standard practice to escalate a case for solar panel registration to a lawyer?
