Morning Adam, I hope you’re well. Please can we get an update on title DN788390? We have patiently waited for 21 days, please can you now confirm that there has been no response from the Highways Agency and that the LR will now grant the Possessory title so we can finally exchange? We would be grateful if you could please flag the urgency of this to whoever is now reviewing it. Do you think it will be reviewed today? Many thanks as always, Ben

Morning Ben - we have received a response from Devon Council with regards the highways check and that needs to be considered by our lawyers. It's not a direct objection to the application but it is a response that requires consideration. I have flagged the urgency with the relevant support team and would normally expect next steps to be taken within 72hrs

Good Morning Adam, I hope you’re well. Please can we have an update on DN788390? I’m hoping you will be able to give us some good news and make it a Happy Friday? We’ve lost another week and this is impacting a number of people and costing a lot of money. This last step with the LR will decide if we can all exchange, so any update or insights you can share would be very much appreciated. Many thanks as always, Ben

Good Morning Ben - no update as yet but will check in again with the casework team for you

Thanks Adam, if you could please that would be great. With no outright objection, hopefully this can be closed out today.

Ben - it's not a positive outcome as yet today but I have chased again but things may not complete today sadly. I will update you when I have something concrete to share

Thanks for letting me know Adam… hopefully there’s nothing to worry about. I’ll ping you on Monday. Have a good weekend, Ben

Ben - hopefully you are right. There's more to do with the highways aspect but am hoping that can be sorted by phone with the relevant party. That's probably where the delay remains but post again Monday lunchtime and we can check again for you.

Morning Ben - just to update you and save you a post today. The casework team need to iron out an issue with the council and will be doing that by email and a phone call. Hopefully they can get a response but until they do things can't complete just yet. I'll update again when things have moved on. DN788390

Thanks for the early post Adam, we so appreciate it. Are you able to share which council department needs to be contacted? We can then chase them to ensure it is looked at today. We need to exchange ASAP this week and this approach of ‘it’s as long as a piece of string’ and ‘it takes as long as it takes’ is not acceptable. This is impacting too many lives and costing too much money.

Ben - we don't share that level of detail on the public forum. It is progressing and contact has been made but we won't know more until tomorrow it seems DN788390

Hi Adam, please can we get an update on DN788390? Have you heard back from the council yet and do you think there is any chance this can all be completed today? Thanks, Ben

Hi Ben - contact has been made and we are awaiting a formal response from the council. It is hoped that will be today. I'll share an update once I have it DN788390

Hi Ben - the expected response from the council has not been forthcoming and I understand it has bene referred to their legal team for consideration before responding. The casework team can't process the case any further or do more to resolve it as the ball is very much in the council's court.

Thanks very much for the early post Adam, we really appreciate it. We had heard the same from the vendors last night and we’re all hoping this nightmare comes to a conclusion very soon. If you do hear anything further I’d really appreciate it if you could please post again. Many thanks

Hi Adam, we have managed to glean that the LR have given the council until 18 August to reply. This was news to us. Please can you let me know what happens if you don’t hear back from them? We’re caught in an infuriating loop between the LR and the council, meanwhile storage costs continue to mount up and we can’t give any clarity to the chain of a related sale. Many thanks

Hi Ben - that's correct and they were only told that today when the casework team issued letters to update the conveyancer and ask the council to respond etc. The forum isn't here to offer regular updates but we do our best to respond quickly when asked. Responsibility for keeping a buyer updated rests with the seller and the conveyancers involved. We are caught in the same loop re a lack of clarity re the council's position. If we don't hear back the casework team will review the application again after the stated deadline. The expectation is that the council will make it clear that no issues remain DN788390

Thanks Adam and we do appreciate the updates you provide. Unfortunately this situation continues to have a massive impact on our lives so we will continue to chase the council. They have just replied to me saying they need to speak to someone in their legal department which may happen tomorrow. We remain hopeful and vigilant to what they may or may not achieve as another week closes out.
