Hi Ben - we are still waiting on the council to confirm things for us so nothing the casework team can do other than repeat the contacts by phone/in writing as they have done again today. The council confirm that they too are being chased by the sellers/buyers and conveyancers involved Hopefully the council will respond with clarity soon and we must have that in light of their responses to date. Hi Adam, thanks so much for being so proactive in your communication, we honestly don’t know what we would have done without this forum. I do understand that you need the council’s input, but this is the second or third time that we have had to wait for their response and they have done absolutely nothing. We have been in limbo now for 2 months, meanwhile we remain effectively homeless and our costs continue to go through the roof. We can’t take the risk of agreeing a rental as we are at the completion stage and this could be sorted in hours. Please can you let me know if there is a deadline for the council to reply to the LR? We need to be able to plan where we live in the interim and I keep mentioning to everyone who’ll listen that there is a related sale. We are going out of our minds with worry and anxiety. Thanks as always for your updates.

Hi Ben - there is no specific deadline as we have to have a positive response from the council. The phone calls (another one today) have reiterated that need and the urgency being expressed by all involved. The only ones who can give you a worthwhile timescale are the council themselves as they are actively trying to obtain the information they need to confirm whether the land forms part of the highway or not. I and the casework team fully appreciate the stress and more this is causing and the life-changing events being caused. But we need the council's confirmation (nobody else's) as stated. Hopefully whoever is chasing the council from your/the seller's end has asked for an been given the council's response re a possible timescale from their end. If they provide a positive and clear confirmation to us I know the casework team are also keen to get this one over the finish line asap but without the confirmation they can't do that for the parties involved.
