I am filling in the FR1 form for my Mother in Law who we have found out that the house she bought with her husband in 1969 hasn't been registered and am needing help with filling out the form for her.  We are not using a solicitor or a conveyancer to fill the form in so need some help in filling out some of the questions.  We are in the process of retrieving the deeds to the house which we think we need to change into my Mother in Law's name as her husband died in 2019.

I am unclear on how I fill out the following questions if that is ok:

Question 5 - how do I work out the cost
Questions 8, 9, 10, - is this relevant to my mother in law
Questions 13, 14, 15, 16 - these all mention conveyancer - do these require filling in

Sarah - the fee will be payable under Scale 1 on the current market value of the property - HM Land Registry: Registration Services fees - GOV.UK
Panel 8 is relevant as we need her contact address(es) to include on the register. Panels 8 and 10 are not if she is now the sole owner and there is no mortgage
If it's a voluntary first registration and you have all the deeds/documents then identity verification is not required - panels 14-16. You will need to complete panel 13

Adam - thank you for this.
At present I am still waiting to know when I can collect the deeds from the bank, which I know I have to fill in the DL form together with a copy of my father in laws death certificate so that the name can be changed.
Am not sure of this is a voluntary first registration.
They bought the house in 1969 and it has never been registered - they have no mortgage left on the property.

Sarah - if there's no transfer involved, and the application is to simply register it now in her name, then it's a voluntary application
