Hello. We are in the process of buying a property, but our sale is being held up while we await the outcome of a determined boundary application which the vendor has submitted to clarify the boundary with the neighbouring property. The application was submitted in January and his expedite request was accepted on 1st Feb. Application Ref J460VFV. Title number NK312181. We are well past the stated 10 days now and the vendor says they've not heard anything about resolving the issue or raising any queries. Are you able to give us an update on progress at all please? Thanks!

Hello Richard - expedition generally gets an application to the processing start line within 10 days. However it doesn't guarantee that it is then completed in the same 10 days.
I'll check with the casework team for an update
NK312181

Hi Adam. Our solicitor thinks that this application was cancelled yesterday (03/03/2026). Is this the case and can you tell us what has happened? Thanks!

Hi Richard - it was cancelled and the applicant informed., namely an explanation given as to why it could not proceed. You/your solicitor will need to speak to the seller/their solicitor to confirm and to obtain details. In such scenarios it would be wrong of us to advise you, a buyer/third party, before the actual applicant/seller had been informed - NK312181

Hello again Adam. Following the cancellation of the above application because the surveyor-supplied map wasn't suitable, our vendor has submitted a new determined boundary application and submitted a new expidite request: Application Reference F728KHV Title Number NK312181. This is now the last issue holding up our purchase of the house and we are keen that this application be dealt with as quickly as posisble as our mortgage offer is due to expire shortly. You'll see that the previous expedited application wasn't looked at for over a month before being cancelled and we are concerned that this shouldn't happen again as it will jepordise the sale. We would be very grateful if you could check up on the progress of this application for us. Many thanks.

Hello Richard - new application submitted and expedited same day, 17th March. I'd expect it to be picked up in next few days but as they have submitted the same Form DB application it will need to be referred to a senior officer to consider NK312181

Many thanks. Are you able to say how quickly this matter is likely to be resolved now? If this is a matter of days that would be great, but if it is going to be weeks or longer, we are not going to be able to proceed with our purchase as our mortgage offer expires shortly. Can you see if any further information has been requested? Our vendor says that they haven't heard anything and they are equally keen to see the sale go through.

Richard - impossible to be definitive re timescales but I have escalated it. Whether more is needed from the conveyancer is part of the 'next steps' consideration. I'd expect to know more in 3-4 days rather than weeks but if more is needed the timescale is stretched further - NK312181

Good Morning Richard - the casework team contacted the applicant for more information and they await their reply. The contact is a postal one and you'll need to confirm/clarify with the applicant. Please allow time for the contact to be delivered before contacting the applicants yourself for example. NK312181

Hello again, Adam. The applicant spoke to your colleagues yesterday and emailed all of the requested extra details to your Customer Support email address yesterday afternoon with all of the relevant references in the subject line. Are you able to see if the material has been received and passed back to the relevant case officer? Hopefully, this gives you everything you need to approve the application and free up the progress of our purchase. Many thanks.
