Hello, I applied for a home rights notice almost 2 months ago and have heard nothing, not even a notification that you had received my application. How long does this process take?
Many thanks
Hannah

Hello Hannah - we don't currently acknowledge receipt. Wait times are on average 4+ months on average.
Do you have the title number and I can check and confirm received and that your application/rights are protected?

Hello Dawn - nothing as yet against that title. Is it the correct one - it's for a property in Swanage?

Hello Adam,
Yes it is, I posted the form on 11th July... should I wait a little longer or resubmit?
Thank you.

Hello Dawn - if that long ago then I would suggest resubmitting. Still nothing showing and will check again later today but 11 days seems too long for one way delivery by post

Thank you Adam,

I have posted the form again this morning so I hope it gets to you. Feeling worried as husband is telling people he can kick me out when he likes as I have no rights.

Dawn - understood and will keep an eye out for it. Still nothing re original request.
I'm sure if your husband checked the legal position then he would get a better understanding of what rights you and he might have. Those rights will exist whether you have a Notice on the register or not. The Notice simply confirms to anyone looking to for example buy or lend money against the property, that his spouse exists and has put them on notice of her rights to live in the property. That is usually sufficient to halt any possible purchase or mortgage completing.

Adam,
I am such an idiot!!!
we had two title deeds in the box but one was for our neighbour and to get onto our property we have to cross hers.
our title deed number is DT311380 for no 70.
i am so so sorry!
obviously not thinking clearly.

Dawn - that's not idiotic and can easily happen. An HR1 was received for that title on 18th July

Thank you!
are my rights protected from that date?
