TR1 completion date - past or future?

Hi!

We're filling in a TR1 form for a transfer of ownership of the family house from my father and mother as joint tenants to myself (son) and mother as tenants in common. The completion of this can happen at any time - the signing of the form and associated financial matterns could happen today.

My question is what to put in for the completion date in panel 3 and the subsequent submssion of the form to HMLR - reading around, I'm confused. Some applications imply this date is typically in the past (ie, the completion happened and then the form was subsequently submitted to HMLR) and others imply they have submitted the form and subsequently updated the completion date.

What is the right thing to do with this date in my circumstances?
