Hello, as mentioned in a previous thread, I submitted a SIM search almost a month ago but have still not received the result. I am currently wanting to submit a first registration application for the parcel of land which is the subject of that SIM search, but I have been waiting because Practice Guide 10 states 'You should lodge the certificate of result of the search on any subsequent correspondence or application for first registration'. I am now in a difficult position because the protection period for the accompanying K17/K18 search certificates expires next week and those searches cost £63 so I am keen to avoid having to pay again for fresh certificates. Are there likely to be any consequences, delays or requisitions arising from submitting the FR1 without a SIMR, given the wording of PG10? Many thanks.

Jay W - none as it states 'should' not 'must'. For completeness we ask applicants to include in case there are any anomalies/changes for example re the searched extent compared with what is then applied for.
