Thank you in advance

I have a HRN, the decree absolute of our divorce has just been granted and therefore it will be removed. Will my HRN still show on the registry for some time, or will it be automatically removed immediately?

My ex husband wants to immediately sell the house, he was prevented by the HRN. He has a buyer lined up, can he immediately sell to them, or does he need to wait for the Land Registry to process the removal request and then update it?

If the HRN remains on the registry for a period, can he sell the property (without my permission) with the HRN against it, if he is able to show that he has a divorce and is therefore just awaiting update?

What is the process of removal and usual timescales, please?

Thank you so much

Sarah - such applications are not automatic so the entry will remain on the register until the form HR4 is processed.
The buyer may be willing, as you state, to still complete provided they have the decree absolute to confirm divorce and they do the normal checks to confirm your HR4 is in play
However if they won't then you/your ex/the conveyancer can request that it is expedited to shorten the wait time to generally 2 weeks or less (usually much less)
If you have submitted a copy of the decree then the processing can be quick. If you've submitted a signed release for example then it will take longer as we will need to do wider checks to confirm ok to remove the entry.
