Hi All

I am going around in circles and hoping for some help.  Looking to re-mortgage for some adaptations for my elderly mothers house and have discovered two aged equitable charges on the register of title from 2009

both lenders advise that they have sold the debt on after the charge was filed against the property.

This means that
a) we do not owe money to the two banks listed against our property
b) if we were to settle with 3rd parties, we cannot provide proof of debt or settlement with the named parties on the register of title

what do we do?
Yours Truly (stuck!)

Beth - I would suggest you seek legal advice.

If the title register shows the charges to be in favour of particular banks, then we would expect appropriate evidence from them to show that it has come to an end.  If they have transferred the debt to some other firm then we would require appropriate documentary evidence of that.
