Application regarding Title WYK317626

Hi there,

My parents are in the process of moving house and have applied for adverse possession of their driveway. We have been advised by our conveyancer that notices have been served and that if no-one responds the drive will be registered on 24th March.  We plan to exchange on this date if possible and need to book a removal firm.  We are obviously worried to book anything if there is likely to be any problem registering the drive.  Are you able to advise if the land registry have received any response to their notices to date please?

Hi Alison - no responses as yet
I would however recommend speaking to the conveyancer again to clarify/confirm options
The wider checks you refer to expire on the 24th so the recipients have until then to respond. The application won't be completed until after the 24th and everything then depends on all being in order
I would recommend considering a slightly later date for your next steps as a result

Thank you, I will speak again with the conveyancer as they advised the drive would likely be registered on the 24th. When you say after 24th, is it usually registered within a few days of this date? Thanks again, Alison 

Hi Alison - it can be but there's a process to be followed which includes checking no responses to checks by 24th so it can't be completed until after that date
