Cancelling an application

Thank you for your reply to my previous thread, it seems to be blocked for some reason. 

My solicitor apparently requested to cancel yesterday too, can you see any request outstanding? It seems like they may have emailed, but is the Contact us form he only/best way to request this? I will follow up with them this morning to confirm.

I also wanted to ask if there was any issue with the application to cause it to be delayed so long? I came across a similar case on your forum which was submitted a few days after ours and it completed in August 24. Do you know why ours has been delayed to August 2025?

I'm guessing it's quicker to withdraw at this stage?
 

They have requested cancellation also so that will be actioned by the support team and usually very quickly
The application included a form RX1 and that therefore routes it as being 'complex' which can result in such a lengthy wait
The application wouldn't normally prevent a remortgage by the two of you but I assume the new lender has taken issue with it being 'pending'. If so then cancelling it is the quickest option

Ok thank you for your help with this. When you say quickly, could it be same day or more like days?

Will the lender be able to see the application as withdrawn when they conduct their searches? Or would I receive email confirmation to forward to them?

Olivia - quickly as in a day or so. Yes re lender. You will either receive a response advising you that it's not your application so the conveyancer needs to cancel it OR if processed after it's been cancelled a response that confirms as such

Hi Adam,  we haven’t heard anything back as yet and our lenders are chasing us for the cancellation. Would it be possible to check the status of this with you so I can manage their expectations? Thank you, Olivia

Thank you for your help with this Adam. Our solicitor received confirmation from HMLR which I forwarded to our lender. However, they are still not satisfied as it is still showing as a pending application when they search. Do you know how long it takes to be updated?

 

Olivia - once cancelled it no longer shows as pending immediately. So no idea what they are referring to when they suggest that it's still pending against SX47145, as it's not.

Thank you Adam, that’s interesting. I’ve let them know and asked them to re-check. They could be stalling me but who knows. I’m very grateful for your quick responses to help guide me through this process.
