Adverse Possession - CYM772798

Hi I have submitted an application for adverse possession for a parcel of land (from the above title number) adjacent to my garden. I know it has been received, as the cheque has been cashed immediately, but not had any confirmation from Land Registry. Firstly I wondered whether I should be receiving that confirmation and secondly, what happens next with some form of timeline. Thanks for your help Ian

Hi Ian - received 5th Feb and an acknowledgement would have been posted to confirm the provisional title number/reference CYM921136/JGE0E30 Our PG 4 explains the process for you -<br> <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/adverse-possession-of-registered-land">Adverse possession of registered land (PG4) - GOV.UK</a><br> The timeline will be a lengthy wait (12+ months) before processing starts; consideration by a senior officer/lawyer to see if you meet the legal and registration requirements; a site visit/survey; and wider checks with the registered legal owner to see if they consent/object

Ok thanks, it wasn't really your response was insufficient. I thought your comments regards issuing of &quot;a provisional title number / reference CYM921136/JGE0E30&quot; might be described in that confirmation. In other words.... what is meant by this provisional number and what does it relate to? Apologies for sounding a bit dull :) , thanks

Ian - no problem and I clearly misunderstood. When such an application is submitted the claimed land is allocated a provisional title number and case reference - I simply shared that detail so you had a record of our reference and confirmation of receipt of the application.<br> Once processing starts the casework team will contact you as appropriate so nothing to do but wait
