Hi not sure if i am in the right place but we are the top of a chain that is all ready to exchange, however the very bottom of the chain has an outstanding enquiry regarding a flat (application refererence C138CTT) and we have been informed by an agent there that the application was referred to a senior officer due to more technical points and an error being made. Can we request this be expediated or is this something that has to be done elsewhere?

We have given the chain a deadline to complete on 31st March as we are now 6 months into the process and therefore it is rather urgent to be looked into in order to ensure the chain doesn't collapse hence the hope for expediation.

We are a bit powerless at the top of the chain and so we want to ensure we are doing all we can. Is there any kind of timeframe? The buyer also has a LISA to close which they wont action until the information is back which in itself can take 10 days, so we have less than 3 weeks to exchange and its looking less and less likely with more delays.

Thank you.

Catherine - this forum won't add anything more to your contact with an agent re this request/amendment. Looks like two sets of conveyancers are also chasing and the amendment will be escalated as a result

Hi Adam

Thanks so much. Fingers firmly crossed it all gets resolved in time. Can we still ask for updates on it on this thread (weekly) or is that not appropriate?

Catherine - you may find responses come via the contacts already made through other channels.
However if you don't receive a reply then by all means check in here again - I can't add any specifics to what you already know but at least an update might be warranted
