Hello. Back at the very beginning of October 2024 I sent off an adverse possession application along with payment. Within a few days, delivery was recorded (sent via tracked service), and payment was collected from my account. However, since then I have had absolutely no contact from the Land Registry on the matter.

The only thing that has been sent about this was a property alert notification email detailing my application, altho it wasn't sent to me but rather someone I know who had set the alert up, so I know because of that and the fact payment was taken that my application was submitted.

However to have not received anything about it in the now six months since sending it is concerning me as I of course am wondering if I had made errors in the application or if more information was required and for some reason I haven't been sent any correspondence about such matters.

Of course I also understand it can take quite a bit of time to deal with these matters and it might just still be in the pipeline but it's simply the fact I've not had any sort of acknowledgement, either via email, mail or phone call on the matter that worries me so would like to enquire as to the status of the application please?

Again I've not received anything to me personally regarding the application but the property alert notification received by the other party involved gave this reference:C708NPT.

The title number for the property in question is SY73832.

Many thanks.

Hello Alex - the application was received on 2nd October and an acknowledgement would have been issued by post to the address in Kent you included on your form. I'm sorry if the acknowledgement did not arrive.
We do have a backlog of this type of work and it may still be a while before next steps are taken. It has bene partially processed but now requires a senior technician to check your claim and decide on next steps.
Invariably those next steps will be a site visit/survey and wider checks with the registered owner for example.
If there's anything wrong with the application we will contact you at the same postal address
SY73832
