Sorry to ask a stupid question. We bought the freehold for our flats. An application to the LR is pending. What changes should I look for in the LR data that will tell me that the change of status has been registered? I know nothing about conveyancing, our conveyancer died so he cannot pass on information. Will the title number change? Will new documents appear on line? I'm expecting a 999 year lease, will that be visible? Will the LR contact me? I'd like to know the key changes to look for that will indicate registration has happened. Thanks.

Robert - I would not expect the title number to be changed re the freehold. If you have a new longer lease then that will have a new title number and if you have that then you can search online using it. Until it's finished it won't be available to view.
Search for land and property information - GOV.UK
The key Q from me would be that if the solicitor is no longer acting re the freehold purchase then who is? Have we been informed?

The firm consisted of 1 solicitor. Since his demise other members of his family (non-solicitors) have become Directors and are continuing to operate the Company. It is not closed. They say they are "winding it up". They perform certain actions, a resident wishes to sell his flat & required a copy of the certified extended lease for his buyer. This was provided. If a new longer lease is issued does that automatically mean that the property has completed registration at the LR?

Robert - no. A new longer lease can be issued but it then needs to be registered. Things happen in that order.
