Hi, this is regarding EA91E38, which you received on 19th May. I included the original 1966 Abstract of Title and the original 1968 Supplemental Abstract of Title with the application for first registration. I also included a covering letter asking for them to be returned to me rather than destroyed afterwards. Practice Guide 1 says that original deeds and documents lodged with most first registration applications are scanned on receipt and then returned before completion of the registration, but I have not yet received them back. I understand the operative word in the above is 'most', not 'all', so could you please confirm whether they have been scanned and, if so, whether they have already been returned to me (in which case they may have been lost in transit, as has happened multiple times before with documents sent to me from HMLR via Royal Mail), or whether they are still being retained for some reason? I was told by an agent on the phone more than ten days ago that they could find no record of what happened to the original abstracts, or even the whereabouts of the TR1 that was sent in with the application, and that somebody from the processing team would get back to me (enquiry reference 260618-6328039), but I have not received any further reply. I have recently discovered some additional title evidence to submit in relation to this application, and, given the nature of the application and the evidence concerned, I need to lodge the original documents rather than certified copies. I hope you can understand that I am worried about sending more original documents while it remains unclear what has happened to the originals already lodged.

Jay W - I have logged the enquiry/issue and referred it to the support team to investigate/refer as appropriate. It appears that your OC request was completed and the fee refunded, so nothing further re the specific enquiry reference you refer to. The support team will need to investigate the FR1 application and the received/scanned deeds and they will respond as appropriate
