This is one of our most frequently asked questions
The vast majority of applications will wait before being processed. In some cases that can be a matter of weeks whilst in others several months and more. A definitive timescale can very rarely be given hence only an estimated/projected or average date/timescale can be offered
Once an application has been submitted it is protected with us and whilst a long wait is undesirable for all of us that protected position remains in place.
How long becomes an important question for most owners/sellers/buyers when there is an actual urgency such as an onward sale/purchase or mortgage offer about to expire. But it's more a question of 'I can't wait and need it completed asap - how do I do that?'
The answer to that question is far more specific as your conveyancer/you can request that it is expedited. There's no point wondering how long it might be before processing begins if an actual urgency exists - request expedition.
If there's no urgency then please wait, try not to ask us how long it might be and bear with us
