Simple application going to take 4 months?

Just received confirmation that our application to change our title to tenants in common (form SEV1 I think) has been received. To quote:
"We received the application for Title ON74635 on 21 January 2025.

Our reference for this application is W287KST.

We estimate it will be completed by 23 May 2025, based on the application type."

Surely this is a simple application - how can it take that long?

Martyn - wait times can and do vary and as we have a backlog of this type of work the wait can be that long. However it is only an estimate based on average timescales so could be processed sooner/later
It doesn't take that long to process and if all in order when processing starts it can often be completed quickly
