Hi,

Here's the situation...

My spouse currently holds our sole property in just her name, as she purchased it before we were married.  We would now like to have myself added to the Title.

We understand we need to complete a TR1 form but are uncertain as to which fee would apply. The important bits (as I understand them) are:
  • Title currently just her
  • Title needs to be both her and I
  • there is no monetary consideration (ie: no money is changing hands)
  • the value of the property is £400,000
Could you advise which scale applies and/or what the fee would be, please?

Many thanks,
Ian W.

I am looking to do the same thing, in this case to add my wife to the title in shared ownership.

I've been advised that as well as the TR1, I also need to produce a AP1 form to update the register. Is that in fact the case?

In the question of fees, do I need to pay only the Scale 2 fee accompanying the TR1 transfer (on half the value), or is there also a fee payable in respect of the AP1 application?

Oliver - AP1 (application form), TR1 (transfer) and ID1s/ID3s (identification verification) are always needed
One application and one Scale 2 fee on half the current market value of the property
Complete panel 4 of form AP1 to refer to Transfer (gift) - Full market value £X - £Y (required fee)
