House was purchased in 1974, there has been no changes to ownership and for will purposes need to complete voluntary first registration. Attempting to complete without a conveyancer as it is unaffordable. The guidance on the voluntary process is basically non-existent so having to piece it together from first registration. The forms say ID1 is needed but on ID1 it states, <br> "<b><span style="font-size:11.0pt;"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;">NOTE 1: </span></span></b><span style="font-size:11.0pt;"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;">This form does not have to be completed for voluntary first registrations unless the title deeds are lost or have been destroyed, or for charges or leases which are merely being noted."</span></span><br> Is the ID1 form needed for voluntary first registration? Can FR1 be submitted with ID for voluntary first registration?

Greg - PG1 and online guidance is the same for a compulsory or voluntary first registration. The only difference is that a voluntary one can be 'simpler' - <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/first-registrations/practice-guide-1-first-registrations">Practice guide 1: first registrations - GOV.UK</a><br> Identity verification is one 'simplicity' as if you have the original deeds/documents needed to prove title then you don't need to have your identity verified<br> Land registration is complex, designed to protect legal and financial interests in property.
