Hello  Does anyone know if the Land Registry will accept the Office of Public Guardians sharecodes for authenticating a POA?  I have been told by my local authority that I have to pay to get an Notary to certify a Power of Attorney document, but I dont understand why, when the OPG will authenticate the POA with a sharecode. I would have thought this is much more secure and reliable form of confirming the validity of a document.

Hello Frederica - The Office of the Public Guardian’s (OPG) ‘Use/View a lasting power of attorney’ service generates a summary of a lasting power of attorney (LPA) which may be accepted instead of the full LPA
Please note that whilst this is a public forum it is very rare to find other users posting their own experiences/advice in response to a post such as yours.

I wanted to ask the question on the contact us form but none of the options were relevant to my question and there wasnt a general question option.

Frederica - noted although my post was aimed really at explaining that 'anyone' doesn't really exist on this forum, it's just you and HMLR (me)
The forum is one option re finding support from HMLR. The contact form is another and you would use the option "I need help to make an application for registration" for example for such a Q if needed
