Hi there,
My partner and I paid of my mortgage in May last year and I am looking to add her to the title deeds.
To do this I believe we require the AP1 form and TR1. We will also need some form of ID verification whether it be ID1 or ID3. We both have valid UK passports and my partner is a teacher. Would we be able to both use ID3s and have our identity verified by one of her colleagues/superiors (other teacher) as teachers are listed on the PG67.

Also, would we need to fill in a DS1? I would assume its not required as the mortgage lender would have cleared all that when the mortgage was repaid.

regards

Hi Matthew - You can both have your identity verified using  form ID3 by one of your partner's colleagues, provided the person verifying the identity knows you both individually for the relevant period.

You would not require to submit a form DS1 unless the mortgage is still shown on the title register and there is a restriction on the title in favour of the lender.

I hope this helps.
