Hi,

ID1 form, can husband complete this himself and then hand it over to my conveyancing solicitor? Everything is very amicable and we do not need separate representation.

If so, who can verify his ID? Any unrelated professional? We have a parish councillor for a neighbour, can he do it?

Many thanks
Louise

Hi Louise - that's a matter for your conveyancer and husband to agree upon. I suspect, but don't know, that the conveyancer is likely to say No to the suggestion
See Practice guide 67: evidence of identity - GOV.UK for identity verification requirements inc ID1/conveyancer or ID3/others as listed
NOTE - the ID verification is there to protect all parties, including ourselves so it's not all about it being amicable but that clearly helps the process from your end
