Hi
I am the executor of my late father's will. I have been granted probate and I am also the beneficiary for the house along with my partner. We both presently stay at that address as I would live with my father.
I have the land title register printed out in 2022 and I am using those details for the title number.
I understand I need to fill in forms AS1, AP1 and then send the grant of probate.
I am trying to fill these forms myself rather than having to use a solicitor as the house has no mortgage or anything complex.
Do I need to fill out the ID1 forms for myself and for my partner as this is the part I am getting differing information about as some sites state the grant of probate is sufficient as my ID but others seem to state ID1 for both me and my partner which must be signed by a conveyancer (and yet another site said id1 for me but id3 for my partner).
Thereafter then I ask checking the pricing and it mentions a cheaper amount through the portal but as far as I can see, only businesses can apply through the portal so I would have to pay via cheque to be enclosed in the forms I send?
If I could please get the answers to this information it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Shafa - you need ID1/ID3 as appropriate for the two of you.
The fee is payable under Scale 2 on the current value of the property. It's a postal only application if you are doing it yourself.
Don't forget to send a certified copy of the probate and not the original

Hi
Thank you for your swift response.

May I further ask, when filling out the AP1 form, under question 4 when it asks about applications, I assume I am to put in just ASSENT?
Also when it asks about applicant under section 6, am I filling that out as the executor of my fathers will or do I fill that out with just my name as one of the beneficiaries or do I put both my wife and myself under this? If it is both me and my wife then in section 15 it stated to put in signature of applicant but only gives one space for one signature so what should be done about that?
Also section 9 which asks about the addresses for each proprietor, then as we both live at the address should I select the address of the property (as the walk through video seems to suggest the last one which is "the following addresses".
Finally in section 14 I assume I am to put myself as the transferor and then both myself and the partner as transferee?

Apologies for the barrage of questions.

Hi Shafa - correct re panel 4 of form AP1
Panel 6 should include the names of those going on the actual register - si you and your wife
Panel 9 - either just make it clear what your contact address(es) are to be for each of you
Panel 14 - correct
No apology needed

Thank you again for your help.

Just to confirm then the fee as far as I can tell is £100 as the house is previously registered as it has a title on the land registry which I printed and therefore would be scale 2, postal and £100? Therefore send a cheque with the application.
And I need to send AS1, AP1, ID1 for me, ID1 for partner and the probate certificate (I requested 3 copies from probate so happy to send one of these across so I assume I don't need to write certified copy as they are the original ones sent from probate).
Should I print out the title register and send that or no need?
And is the address the one ending GL14 9BB

Should I make a copy of all paperwork before I send it and should I send it recorded delivery?
And any ideas with regards to timeframes before I know it is all completed?

Shafa - al correct and we don't need a copy of the registered information as we already have that
Whether you make a copy and/or send recorded delivery is very much up to you. If you are unsure or lack confidence in the postal service then some will use a more secure option such as recorded delivery

Hi

Thank you for your help in filling out the form. I have sent off my application, I can see that the fee was taken out and the letter of probate was returned back to myself.
What I wanted to know then is what happens now? I assume as I have sent off the paperwork myself then I will be notified if anything further is required? Also do I get a notification when this is all complete and can I ask what would that look like (is it the updated title deed or just a notification)?
Is it possible to get an idea as to how long the whole process will take (as from my reading on the time frames it seems to suggest most are done within about 25 days).
Hi Shafa - if there's anything missing or more needed the casework team will contact you as appropriate
If all ok and when completed you will be notified and receive a copy of the updated register
The 25 days is an average only and timescales can vary as a result. The application and change of ownership is protected so very much a case of simply waiting to now hear from us

Hi
Really sorry to keep pestering yourself but just wanted to know, if I've still not heard anything it's there anything I should do or should I be contacting someone. I know you mentioned the 25 days being an average and it can take longer but I think it's been above 60 days as it was end on July I sent the paperwork off.
Please do let me know then if you can that my application is still on the system and not awaiting any information from me and if you can roughly how much longer it'll be.
I did send a request for update about a month ago through the contact us form but did not hear anything so my main concern then is maybe you are trying to contact me but the contact is not getting through

Hi Shafa - there's nothing for you to do but wait for us to contact you. If you used the Contact form to enquire re progress then you should have got an auto-response explaining processing times.
If you want to confirm that we have your correct details and that the application is still waiting to be processed then use the Contact form to enquire and if you get an auto-reply then respond to that OR reply to the auto-response already received
