Hi, can I send a photocopy of a current ID1 form to transfer a property. I am selling my house to my son and then buying another house from another family member, straight forward cash and then transfer completing TR1 and AP1 ourselves. I have found a conveyancer who will do an ID1 form alone for quite a fee, As I will be part of two separate transfers I need an ID1 for both. ID1 for last 3 months I believe, so can I send a photocopy to the Land Registry for the 2nd transfer to avoid paying this fee twice for two identical ID1 forms, kind regards Terry.

Hi Terence - I'm afraid not. You can rely on the same ID forms if both applications are submitted together and each one cross-refers

Hi, thank you for your reply, both applications will be same day, I am not sure yet if this means together. I did think I had resolved it anyway, I assume if using online submission then you have to send a photocopy anyway, so as long as ID1 is current should be OK even if sent on different dates, or am I missing something, kind regards Terry.

Terence - they must all be submitted together and then cross-referenced. If you think you have solved it as a conveyancer is submitting both then just check with them to confirm

Thank you for you help Adam, I plan to use the digital registration service to submit a (transfer for value) TR1. Do I submit the ID1 form online as an attachment, (PDF for example) or does the ID1 always need physically posting to Land Registry, Terry.

Terence - if you use our business e-services then you submit the ID1 form as an additional document in PDF format

Hi Adam, I am general public , am I right in now thinking we don't have an option to submit online, if so it seems a bit backward for our digital age, thank for your help.

Hi Terence - postal only for general public. We are looking at ways of developing digital options for the public but they are some way off still at present.
