Mortgage paid off

Good morning, I recently paid off my mortgage and would like to check if my previous mortgage lender has remove themselves from the title deeds please. Also, I need to take them off the deeds (if it is my my maiden name still) but if I need to change the title deeds to say the mortgage has been paid if the mortgage lender hasn't, I have the added complication that my mortgage was in my maiden name too therefore my id won't match. Firstly, can I check re my mortgage being removed please? Secondly, if it hasn't, what way round am I best processing a removal of mortgage and change of name (with the complication above)? Thank you

Good morning Bernadette - You can check the title details by obtaining a copy of the title register for a small fee - https://www.gov.uk/search-property-information-land-registry If you can provide me the title number or the property address (which I will delete from here for privacy reasons) then I can check if there has been a recent update.
