ID3 forms - originals?

Hi, I am in the process of submitting a DIY property transfer application by post. I have two parties whose identity needs to be verified via ID3 forms. One of the parties is based in the Isle of Man and is unable to send the original form in time. Would a scanned copy of the completed and signed ID3 form be acceptable, or does it need to be the original? Thank you
