I decided to do DIY conveyancing to buy a freehold lock up garage with my savings, the seller's solicitors say I need to verify my funding because of anti laundering legislation and the only way I can do that is via a solicitor, is this correct?

Mark - it's not something we would be able to advise upon I'm afraid. The issue focusses on where the monies came from and that's not our role or oversight. You'll need to rely on the solicitor to signpost the legislation that covers the subject for you
