Time it takes for a boundary line to be redrawn

Hi All,

We are in the process off selling our property and have hit a roadblock, the current fencing/layout of the boundary does not match that on the land registry and therefore can not proceed.

We have spoken to the neighbours and they have agreed it needs to be redrawn which we got done by a local surveyor, all parties involed signed the paperwork in agreement and our solictor is submitting everything this week.

 My question is, how long does it take for the boundary to be updated and the new paperwork sent out please?

Hi Martyn - once the application has been submitted they need to then request expedition separately - Request an expedite - GOV.UK 
Expedition gets the case to the processing start line generally within 5-10 days. Everything then hinges on it being in order

Our solicitor has left without providing an update on where we stand after all the paperwork has been handed in with all parties in 100% agreement.

Do you have a reference number or a way to tell what stage we are at please? At the moment it is holding up chain involving a few properties.

Finally had a letter with an update, now they have gone to the bank to explain the line being redrawn - no idea why.

Might get there this year!

Finally after all these months, solicitor today have submitted all the required documents for the line to be redrawn, CL249856 & CL249868.

They have asked for it to be expedited, really need you to work your magic please other properties in the chain have given us a month and there is still the searches to do after this.

Good Day Martyn - they have lodged an application so let's hope it includes all the required documents as you state
I'll flag it with the casework team and cross everything that it is all in order

We got a step closer, one side was completed end of last week (very quickly) but not the one needed for the sale to process onto the final searches and completion. This is the one we need the most CL249868. Thank you
