I am in the process of buying my first property. It's been 6 months since we started the process and I feel trapped between solicitors. The latest information I've got is that the solicitors of the lender to the seller have put an application for changing the said lender's address. They say this application has been pending since July, but they have expedited 4 times (?). I am concerned that there might be other applications so we will not be able to complete until these are all dealt with. The title is SY2901.

Many thanks in advance,

Eduardo - I'll see if I can get an update as to what's happening with the pending application

Eduardo - that application has been completed and the register updated now. I suspect you/the conveyancer may already be aware

Adam, many thanks! Apparently now it seems that they also changed the property address. It should be Pearl House, 54 Northway and now it shows Flat 1, Pearl House, 54 Northway (sigh). Do they need to do another application to amend this?
The background is that the developers converted the property into 4 flats. I am buying Flat 2. Many thanks again,

Eduardo - From our perspective the change of property address can be made at the same time as the application to register your ownership.  There is no requirement to submit an application beforehand if all the parties involved are happy.

Thank you Nimish. Where we are at is our solicitors are waiting for a DS3 confirmation since there was a previous mortgage in place. But what you are saying is that they can still go ahead and file a priority search application so we can complete, correct?

Thank you!

Eduardo -  Yes, they can.

Apologies - I am confused. I sent this to my solicitors and they say that they cannot go ahead as it's not a freehold but a share of freehold which is effectively a lease. Are they right about this?

Eduardo - If you are purchasing a flat then it would be leasehold.  You may also have a share of freehold if that is being part of the arrangement, but that would be separate.

Thank you both Adam and Nimish - Your responsiveness is remarkable and much appreciated!
I have just learned that an application will be submitted tomorrow to amend the address from "Flat 1, Pearl House..." to simply "Pearl House". They will request to expedite.
