Death tenant in common lease

My father has died and left his half of the lease to me and two siblings. With the right of the other tenant in common to remain in the leasehold flat.

what forms are required for an update of the register?
will ID checks be required as well as death certificate and probate etc?

 

Steven - I'm sorry to read of your loss. If the legal ownership of the property is to be transferred then the surviving owner would need to transfer it.
Any application to transfer the legal ownership should include a certified copy of the death certificate/probate
Before transferring the legal ownership I would recommend seeking legal advice to discuss options and to decide which is the best/right one for both the surviving owner and the beneficiaries.
