Hi Everyone.

I wish to buy a leasehold house, the freeholder company was dissolved in 1995, I have the company number, but it seems too old to appear anywhere!
I'm assuming it's been disclaimed by now.
I'd be happy to buy the house as a leasehold and try to buy the freehold later.
Can the leasehold title be transfered to me without a freeholder or a dissolved one, or must it be vesting, etc, etc?

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Cheers,

Paul

Hi Paul - leaseholds can be sold/bought quite separately from their freeholds. Do speak to your legal adviser though with regards the impact of the freeholder company being dissolved as presumably there are some obligations in the lease itself re the landlord and vice versa to be considered. They can also advise on the wider impact on how buying the freehold might play out now or in the future
