Good afternoon,

The property I bought 2 years ago has a driveway that needs a repair. When I bought the property, the driveway was not on the title, hence I assumed (wrongly) it would belong to the council. I reached out to council and received a reply from their planning team that the driveway doesn’t belong to them. They advised me to reach out to land register about this.

The property is on ex council estate with some neighbours having a driveway.

Could you please advice on my next steps? I would pay for the repair but would want to have a piece of mind that the driveway belongs to my property.

Thank you
Gin

G A Gin - you need to check to see if the land/driveway is registered and you can do that online or by post as appropriate
If you can't accurately identify the land/driveway online than I'd suggest making a postal application for a SIM and if it's registered then using the search result to search online with the details provided
