I have paid my mortgage and the bank mentioned that the charges has been taken off. I have searched my title register and it says in the "Charges Register" page "Class of Title" - "Title Absolute"

Does this mean there is no charges and the property wholly belongs to me?

S Ha - Title Absolute relates to the class of title given and Absolute is the 'best' form of guaranteed title and the one most properties have. Nothing to do with a mortgage/charge
A mortgage (registered charge) would appear as a double entry in the C Charges Register for example 1. Charge dated ...........and 2. Name of lender and their address
If the C Charge Register doe snot refer to any registered legal charges then the mortgage has been removed (discharged)
The property always belonged to you (see the B Proprietorship Register). The mortgage was a secured loan and not something that makes the lender the legal owner
