Identification for TR1 and AP1

Spouse owns 50% of an investment property and is gifting me half of her share so we are completing forms TR1 and AP1. Having completed ID3 as required for TR1, do we also need to meet the separate ID requirements requested when submitting AP1?

Charles the ID requirements are not separate as the form AP1 is the application form and the TR1 is the legal deed/transfer. You submit forms AP1 plus ID3 x 2 along with the TR1 for example

I just assumed that common sense would suggest, as the two forms are coming to the same organization, Land Registry, that one ID3 form and supporting documents would be sufficient, rather than duplicating the same paperwork. Another trip to the solicitor and another £75 for three more ID3's which are the same as the one's completed last week.

Charles - I don't follow? Form Ap1 is the application form. Form TR1 is the legal deed transferring ownership. And forms ID3 are for each of the parties involved. If there are just the three of you involved, and you have each had your IDs verified, I am unclear as to why you mention that you now need to do that again a week later and get three more?

In your original response you said "forms AP1 plus ID3 x 2 along with the TR1 for example". I interpreted this as each person in this transaction needing to submit two ID3's each. There are three people involved in this transaction, My spouse and their business partner who currently each own 50% of the property, and myself who will receive one half of my spouses share. From my understanding of your recent response, please confirm that apart from a completed AP1 and TR1 that each party in the transaction only needs to provide one ID3. Thank you.

Charles - as you mentioned your spouse and you I assumed that there were two of you. One ID3 each hence ID3 x 2 The legal ownership is always transferred as a whole.
However as your spouse and her business partner are transferring the whole from the two of them to the three of you then you need ID3 for each party, so ID3 x 3
Apologies for any misunderstanding on my part
