We're at the end of a process of buying a property, our solicitors are adamant that the only hold up is because the postal address is different to the address on the title. Apparently (Though we've spoken to our lender and they claim it to be false) they need to have the title register match the Royal Mail postal address. The address is the exact same but is missing the closest town and county. Should this take a long time to update given the solicitor we've purchased from put the request in weeks ago?

Rebecca - it can depending on how they put the request in as that can impact on wait times.
What's the title number/postal address and I can take a look?

Hi,
I don't have the title number, but the address currently is 31 Staplers Heath, Great Totham, CM9 8PQ. It's missing Maldon, Essex.
Thanks for your quick response.

Hi Rebecca - many thanks. The conveyancer has lodged an actual application to update the register and it's property description to include 'Maldon'. Some lenders/conveyancers need the address and more information to match to allow the process to complete.
As they have lodged it as an application and there is an urgency they can ask us to expedite it. Wait times are lengthy (a few months on average) and expedition means it can be fast-tracked to reduce that wait time to generally less than 10 days.
I'll flag it with colleagues to expedite it now based on the details you have shared re urgency involved

Thank you for your help.
My husband is going to be working away for a month, and as a condition of our sale we need to be moved out in September. We was hoping to move in the next 2 weeks but no one seems to take us seriously with our solicitors.
You're help here is really appreciated.

Rebecca - understood and it can be a stressful and difficult time especially when the delay appears to be over something on paper is quite minor.
Let's see if we can get the register updated so as to enable things to proceed smoothly asap
