Hi there

I am trying to sell my deceased Father's house. It's a very tricky situation as there are two charges on the registry to be removed to sell.

One of them is by Lloyds Bank which I know was the mortgage. I know my Dad paid this off at least 10 years ago but the bank never removed the charge. I don't have a mortgage number or any paperwork as it doesn't look like he kept it. I don't even know if he stayed with Lloyds for his mortgage!

LLoyds were very unhelpful without a mortgage number so I was asked to check if the land registry holds anymore information about this charge? The title number is HP339137

Any help very much appreciated!

Shona

Hi Shona - the copy charge on file doesn't refer to an account number. It's rare for the paper mortgage deed submitted for registration to include such details.
You can apply by post for a copy of the legal charge for a fee although it's 'value' to the lender in trying to trace the record is likely to be minimal - Get information about property and land: Get a copy of the deeds - GOV.UK
