Hi, I am about to become the registered proprietor of a title whose charges register records an original conveyance as filed following a first registration in April 2003. Is that original document still likely to be held, and if so what is the current route to request its return once I am registered? I have found references to Form RD1 but conflicting accounts of whether it is still in use, and nothing clear on whether a fee applies. Thanks.

Hi Jay - we don't hold the original but if it states Copy filed then we should have a scanned copy. Form OC2 is the request form. £11 per copy. Not heard of a form RD1

Hi Adam - it doesn't state 'Copy filed' it states 'Original filed'. I do already have an official copy - it would have just been nice to have had the original returned to go along with all the other original deeds and documents for the property. Form RD1 here: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/5a822f54ed915d74e34022f8/RD1__2017-04-01_.pdf

Ji Jay - many thanks the form was withdrawn in April 2018 so no scope to request the return of the original document now. Original deeds held in the 'file' referred to would have been scanned and destroyed

Adam - thanks for the confirmation and for saving a wasted application
