Hi, I have changed the disposition of some of the rooms in my freehold flat. Do I need to inform the land registry? The outside boundaries haven't changed. I basically moved the kitchen to a different room. I'm now selling the flat and want to know if the changes without the Land Registry update can affect the sale. Thank you.

Hi Cristiana - you only need to update the registered information if the lease is for example varied. If the 'room changes' aren't causing the lease to be varied then the registered information shouldn't need updating

Thank you, Adam. How do I find out if the 'room changes' could cause a lease variation? Thank you.

Cristiana - speak to your landlord and conveyancer. For example if the terms of the lease need to be altered or the lease plan changed to accommodate your changes then a deed of variation would probably be needed
But very much a Q for your landlord/conveyancer to answer rather than us.

Thank you, Adam. I'll do that.
