Errors made by the Land Registry

Good morning, Could you please explain to me why, when the land registry makes an error in an application, the correction must then sit behind other applications pending, when the original application held priority? This doesn't make much sense to me. Many thanks

Good morning Jessica V - Under rule.12, of the Land Registration Rules 2003, we are required to process any application against a title in the priority order that they are submitted. This includes amendments and rectification.
