I need a copy of the lease for my flat, before I submit the OC1 form , is it possible to confirm that I can obtain the lease as it was written back in 1982

Paul - form OC1 is used for the register/title plan. You need form OC2 to apply for a copy of the lease
You complete the details as appropriate re the copy lease you want

Hi Adam , I realised when I had posted that i needed an OC2 rather than OC1 , type error , My main question was that the lease was written in 1982 and i wanted to know whether a copy exists, I read somewhere that it was only compulsory after 1990

Hi Paul - have you checked to see if the leasehold is registered and/or if the freehold is and has a lease noted against it?
I understand the link to 1990 but that's not how registration always works with freehold/leasehold tenures
You clearly know that there is a 1982 lease - how and is it registered?

Hi Adam - I have a red stamp, from The Tunbridge  Wells District Land registry with a title number - is that what you mean ? is it typical for all the relevant leases to have the same title number ? ,  just to give you some background - there are six flats in the block and we are making enquiries about the freehold, I have my lease , but other parties do not , we are trying to complete a BVC4form and we need copies of all the leases to  move forward - many thanks Paul

Hi Paul - it is a clue as to the registered information. If a lease has been stamped with LEASEHOLD TITLE NUMBER X then the leasehold register would confirm the details. And it would be that title number you would apply against for a copy.
Each leasehold title/tenure would be different for each flat.
For example if you search online and check the Freehold register then it should refer to the 6 individual leasehold titles/tenures - Search for land and property information - GOV.UK

Hi Adam - I am in the process of completing an OC2, the form asks for a title number - I do not  have this for the copies of leases I need , will it cause a problem ? have had a look on line to obtain the numbers but cannot find anything - There are six flats that we are dealiing with and although they have different postal address on the title deeds summary I have looked at they are registered as the main property address without specifiying a specific flat - should i just add a footnote on the OC2 form so i get the specific lease to each flat - many thanks Paul

Hi Paul - you'll only get a copy of each lease if they are registered or noted. That means there has to be a registered title number to apply against. What's the address?

Hi Adam - 30 York Road Guildford, Gu14DF Surrey - there are 6 flats - many thanks Paul

Paul - many thanks. So the freehold and all 6 flats are registered. You should be able to search by number 30 and post code GU1 4DF online to then access the registers as appropriate
If you download the freehold register it will list all 6 leasehold title numbers
You can then apply by post for copies of each lease against each of those 6 title numbers as appropriate

Morning Adam - I am in the process of completing a BVC4 form - it is a requirement that I send a copy of all 6 leases and other paperwork via an email - I believe this would be too large a file for a standard email - is there a preferred format that HM would like me to use such as Drop box ? -

regards Paul
