Hi
I purchased a property in repossesstion 15 years ago, previously under mortgage by UCB. On section b of the official property registry, a restriction was placed : "RESTRICTION: Until 13 December 2010 no disposition of the registered estate (other than a charge) by the proprietor of the registered estate is to be registered without a certificate signed by UCB"
As a lay person, this seems to suggest that the property could not be transferred/sold without permission from UCB, as some form of protection to UCB in the case of some irregularity to the sale which wasn't flagged at the time of sale?

How does one have this aged/fulfilled request removed from the registry?
thank you

Hi Peter - you can apply to cancel a restriction using form RX3 as appropriate - Cancel a restriction: registration (RX3) - GOV.UK
If you think there was an error, so the restriction should have been removed at the time of the register update re your purchase, then you can use our contact form instead to report the error - Public guidance: dealing with land and property - GOV.UK
