Find out if bank has removed interest

We recently paid off our mortgage and got a letter from the bank saying they will remove their interest in the property in the land registry. We want to verify this but other than paying for the information can't see how to check this. We don't want to keep paying until we can see it's clear. Is there a way to check this? Once we know it's clear we will then happily pay for and download a copy of the deeds Thanks

Roger - we don't offer such a checking service but if you have recently paid off your mortgage I doubt if the lender has applied to update the register as yet. Most lenders do so on average within 3-4 weeks of notifying you and in most cases the register is updated within seconds. I'd suggest waiting a little longer.
