I am the chairman of two charities, one an unincorporated Trust and one a CIO, both running the same village hall. We have received an order from the Charity Commission permitting the merging of the trust charity into the CIO. The property (village hall) is vested in the OC. Do we need to advise the OC of the change to the charity structure and the new charity number or do we need to transfer the property to the CIO?

Hello Andrew - You would need to check with the OC if they need to be informed of the change in the charity structure.
With regards to the transfer of the property, if the ownership information on the title register is different from what has happened as a result of the change, then we would recommend an application to update the register be submitted.
Guidance on our requirements to change the register can be found on our website
I hope this helps.
