Land Registry Contact Details for unknown land owner query

Hi. The standard search is only associated with properties. I'm interested to know who owns the strip of land behind our property that has an entrance sandwiched between two properties. The local council said it's privately owned. I would like to know who that owner is as it has become a fly tipping dumping ground which our property backs up against. When I look on the search and title deeds map it's either a grey strip of land or it has dots. Who do I contact for a deep search? I've completed a SIMS and will send this off, however, this form is really only related to property and not land. What's the process for me to query land and not property?

Hi Frank - you can also search by map to identify registered land using the same service
Form SIM can also be used to ask us to complete the search for you. You need to ensure that you attach a quality plan clearly identifying the land
Try the search by map first but be accurate. If unsure, especially if the land is 'small' then go with the postal SIM instead
